Heart Shaped, Oven Baked Buffalo Chips

I made these heart shaped baked buffalo chips for Valentine’s Day in 2018 but they would be PERFECT to dress up a drab meal, for anniversaries, and for birthdays. They were super fun to make, although they were a little more work than normal buffalo chips.

You will need a small-medium sized cookie cutter that will fit the size of the sliced potato (see the picture below to see what I mean). I used one similar to this set but I got mine from Michaels.

Heart Shaped Buffalo Chips
The bigger the potato is, the bigger your cookie cutter can be and the bigger your buffalo chips will be.

Ingredients:

  • 5 Golden Potatoes
  • Avocado Oil (or oil of choice)
  • 1-2 Tbs Parsley
  • 1-2 Tbs Chives
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Pepper to taste

Instructions:

Time needed: 30 minutes

  1. Prep the Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes. Then slice them into slices approximately 1/4 an inch thick. Don’t stress about the thickness just know that the thicker they are the longer they take to cook, the thinner the less time they take and the crunchier they are.

  2. Use the Cookie Cutters

Now if you want plain oval buffalo chips skip this step but if you want heart shaped (or any other shaped) then now you’re going to use the small cookie cutter to cut each potato slice into the desired shape.

  3. Spice Things Up

Preheat your oven to 450 F. Now put all of the hearts in a bowl and mix them together with the spices and coat them entirely with avocado oil.

  4. Bake the Buffalo Chips

Now spread all your hearts in an even layer across the baking sheet and bake them at 450 F for about 10 minutes. Then flip them over and bake for another 10 minutes or until golden brown and the desired crispy-ness.

  5. Enjoy!!

Enjoy with ranch or blue cheese dressing or even with ketchup!

Baked Buffalo Chips

These buffalo chips are one of my favorite ways snacks to make at home! I know you’ll enjoy them too. If you are looking for other easy recipes this easy appetizer of pan fried rangoons is a sure crowd pleaser! Or if you’re looking for something a little sweeter then this grilled pineapple is a delicious choice!
