So my husband and I have decided to split Valentine’s Day and our Anniversary so that the responsibility doesn’t fall on one person more than the other, plus it allows me to spoil him one day and him to spoil me the other. It was my turn this year for Valentine’s Day and I was at a loss as to what to do for my husband. I didn’t want to do the traditional go out to eat and present etc. I wanted to make it really special. So after a ton of searching on Pinterest I finally found something that sounded fun and romantic that I actually wanted to do.
I did 5 gift bags each labeled with one of the 5 senses: Sight, Smell, Touch, Taste and Sound. I used red tissue paper to add that Valentine’s Day touch to them. Now this can be as cheap or as expensive as you want it just depends on what you put in the bags and how much you spend per gift. I chose to set a budget of roughly $10 a bag and using amazon and the dollar store, I felt we ended up with some really fun stuff.

Our Valentine’s Day
Bags:
In the sight bag I went with lingerie, I got a set from Amazon for only $12.00. I wasn’t really going for quality here so the cheaper the better. Plus I was really happy with this set when I got it in the mail, its perfect.
Then for the touch bag I got this head scratcher which feels ah-mazing on your scalp if you’ve never felt one. It cost about 6 dollars and was something my husband has been asking for for a while now because getting his head scratched is one of his favorite things ever, (I once made these cute head scratcher coupons (link) for him as a gift).
For smell I decided to go simple with a small cute candle from that smelled like cinnamon rolls from the dollar store. My husband isn’t a big candle person but they added to the Valentine’s Day atmosphere, and he didn’t need any new cologne or anything at the time. He did love how this one smelled though!! I also added a can of apple cinnamon air freshener, also from the dollar store for good measure. So only $2 on the smell/scent bag.
For the sound bag I got a fun water proof bluetooth speaker for our shower! It was about $15 and had some good reviews. I wasn’t going for anything fancy here again, just cute and fun.
Finally, for the taste bag there are really so many options. You could give your significant other their favorite food, a romantic snack or dessert to share, or go really any other food related items. I went with bags of candy and his favorite: Ferrero Rocher chocolates which apparently they sell on Amazon!
Everything else:
Along with these bags I made a delicious dinner of Wingers Sticky Fingers, heart shaped fries, and asparagus. I decorated the table with candles, cut out hearts and then I got some romantic flower petals and fairy lights off of Amazon to decorate our bedroom. It turned out sooo cute.

Valentine’s Day is such a fun holiday! Take the chance to spoil your loved ones!
When I was growing up my mom would make giant heart shaped sugar cookies every year. They would take a few days to eat they were so big! Did you have any family traditions for valentines day growing up??
I am really impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself? Anyway keep up the nice quality writing, it’s rare to see a great blog like this one these days..
Thank you, I did the website all myself.
