Tips for a Great Experience at Glazer Children’s Museum

Parking

The best place to park for your visit to the Children’s Museum is the Poe Garage. This parking garage is right behind the museum with about a 5 minute walk from your car to the museum entrance. It costs $1 for the first hour, $2 for every hour after that with a $15 daily max.

Stollers

There is a stroller corral station on each floor of the museum and the elevators are massive. I would definitely recommend bringing a stroller if you are bringing really young kids or extra items like diapers bags, lunches, and jackets.

Crowds

Free Tuesdays at Glazer Children’s Museum definitely can get crowded. It is important to go in with the right expectations so that you can still enjoy your time there. There will be crowds so you may have to wait for the elevator and certain toys. There is plenty to do so be ready to redirect your child if one toy station is busy, remind them that they can come back to it in a few minutes. Remember to just have fun! Try not to stress about the crowds too much.

Food

There is a small concessions area with food available for purchase if you would like. You are also allowed to bring food into the Glazer Children’s Museum. So feel free to bring snacks and water to keep away hangry meltdowns. I recommend bringing a packed lunch to eat and make the most of your time at the museum. There is a small cafeteria area but it only has about 5 tables with four chairs each. If they are full, then simply head outside for a picnic outside. Curtis Hixon Park is right in front of the museum so there is a lot of grass and open space you could sit on as well as benches and steps if you prefer to be off the grass. Re-entry to the museum is allowed so after eating head back in for more fun.

We ate outside and the kids had fun running around and watching the water taxi go by. There is also a fountain/splash pad area that you can let kids run through on warm days!
