IDK about you guys but I love Valentine’s Day. I know it’s mushy and lovey but I think it’s a great time to show your love to others. And that is not exclusive to a significant other. It can be for family and even friends. Just think back on the old elementary school days when you decorated a cute mailbox and filled out 30 identical valentines to hand out to your best friends and classmates. Then in class everyone went around and handed them out and we got to eat all the candy that came with them! Wether you love Valentine’s Day or not this glass jar centerpiece is for you.
In my family we had a tradition where my mom made every person in the family a GIGANTIC homemade heart shaped sugar cookie decorated in the best homemade buttercream frosting. It would literally take days to eat the whole cookie and it is one of my favorite memories from this holiday. We also loved to get those huge oversized Hershey kisses from my dad, needless to say we had plenty of sugar. Once again Valentine’s Day was a great time!
These great memories along with several other have led to a love for this sweet holiday. This year my husband and I are trying a new idea we got from Jordan at Funcheaporfree.com. We are going to switch off being in charge of Valentine’s Day and anniversary. The day you’re in charge of is an opportunity to completely spoil the other person. So I am in charge of Valentine’s Day this year and I just don’t know what to do. What romantic things have you done for a guy that he loved?
What I am good at though is decorating. So I have a super easy and cheap Valentine’s Day craft for you.

All you need is:
- A glass vase or jar
- Ribbon in a color of your choice (I used two similar to this one and this sheer one)
- A medium sized candle
- Heart shaped vase filler – I got mine from the dollar store but these from amazon mean you don’t have to leave the house.
Instructions:
Now take your glass container and wrap the ribbon around the neck, I used black ribbon and tied a bow around the neck of my glass container. Then place the candle inside the container as close to the middle as possible. Then simple fill the empty spaces around the candle with the heart shaped fillers and TADA!
A cute center piece or decoration perfect for Valentine’s Day. And the best part is, it is easily collapsible and doesn’t take up much storage space which is always a plus when it comes to decorations!
