Ooey Gooey Chocolate Cake (Better Than Anything Cake)

This decadent cake is the only chocolate cake that I like to eat, otherwise I much prefer white or vanilla cake. Growing up we called this dessert ooey gooey chocolate cake but since then I have learned that most people call it “better than sex cake” or some variation of that.

Whatever you choose to call it, it will taste amazing!

Ingredients

This delicious Better Than Anything recipe is the perfect moist chocolate cake. The toffee bits topping really pulls the whole thing together with a perfect blend of chocolate and caramel.   • Boxed Chocolate Cake Mix
  • 14 oz Jar of Caramel Topping
  • 14 oz Can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • Whipped Cream
  • Toffee Candy, Crushed

Instructions

Time needed: 2 hours

  1. Make the Boxed Cake

    First things first: to make the chocolate cake according to the box instructions or your favorite chocolate cake recipe. Either will work as long as you make a sheet cake in a 9×13 pan.

    Once it is done (you can stick a toothpick or knife in the cake and it comes out clean) then let it cool.

  2. Poke Holes

    Next you are going to poke holes all over the top of the cake as shown in the photo. Poke the holes about a half inch apart, covering the entire surface of the cake.

  3. Add the Goo

    Now we are going to add the ingredients that make this cake superior to all other chocolate cakes. Pour the caramel topping and the sweetened condensed milk on top of the cake. Use a spatula to spread them over the entire surface and prevent it from pooling in the corners and edges.

  4. Refrigerate

    Now put the cake in the refrigerator for an hour to overnight. Really as long as you need. This is to let the caramel and sweetened condensed milk completely soak into the sponge cake and get nice and moist.

  5. Top it Off

    Finally, once you are ready to serve the cake (or it’s done setting) top the cake with an 8 oz container of whipped cream and crushed toffee candy. Now you are ready to serve and enjoy!
